Industry directory

Eight industries, eight SEO approaches. No universal strategy.

In one sentence

seosath builds industry-specific SEO landing pages, each backed by a documented client engagement. Three industries live (trades & construction, Rucker Elektro Munich recovery; financial services & insurance, Investmentbüro Rotenberger launch case; beauty & wellness, B28 Muscat launch case), five more in preparation.

A lawyer ranks differently than an electrician, a private-practice doctor differently than a hotelier. The mechanics are the same, the signals are not. This overview shows which industries seosath is currently working on, what makes the ranking lever for each, and which industry pages go live next.

Why an industry page instead of a universal SEO page

SERP geometry changes per industry.

The algorithm mechanics are identical, the signal weighting is not. Anyone tackling local SEO for trades with the same playbook as B2B SEO for a law firm loses in both cases. Four mechanisms that regularly show up in real engagements:

Industry pages are not cosmetic persona pages. They solve a concrete problem: someone searching for „SEO agency Munich" expects a generalist answer. Someone searching for „SEO for trades" expects a provider who has Wallbox subsidies, electrical panel renovations and the Bavarian Building Code in their vocabulary, not someone who first typed the word „trades" two weeks ago.

Every industry page here is therefore derived from an existing engagement or a documented diagnosis. Where we have no engagement, we say so openly. No invented personas.

  • Geo granularity. For trades, the district decides („Electrician Schwabing" has a different top-3 than „Electrician Giesing"). For healthcare, district-level distinction brings little, the city is the right granularity. The wrong choice wastes visibility or cannibalises your own pages.
  • Trust-signal weighting. For healthcare, star ratings are the second-strongest ranking factor after relevance. For B2B services, hardly measurable, there client testimonials and professional certifications matter. A different lever order per industry.
  • Specialisation depth. „Lawyer Munich" is a generalist SERP with big-brand competition. „Labour-law lawyer Bogenhausen" is a hyper-specialist SERP with reachable top-3 spots for small units. Reading the specialisation axis wrong means building for the wrong competitive class.
  • Schema affinity. For restaurants, Google renders menu/priceRange/openingHours directly in the SERP snippet. For law firms, LegalService with areaServed delivers the map-pack-eligibility signal. Which schema types the respective SERP actually uses determines the visibility windows.

Three live, five in preparation

Per industry the concrete SEO break and the solution path.

Order by engagement availability, not by market size. Every industry page only goes live once a documentable engagement backs the SEO lever.

Live 01 · TRADES & CONSTRUCTION

Trades & construction

Electricians, plumbing/HVAC, painters, carpenters, roofers, smart-home installers. The main break: district-level SERPs are served with central city pages, both cannibalise each other, both lose. Solution path: topic-specific service pages (Wallbox, electrical panel, construction power) plus district/service-area clusters, led by the Google Business Profile.

Live 02 · FINANCIAL SERVICES & INSURANCE

Financial services & insurance

Insurance brokers, provision and financial-services providers. The main break: competing with comparison portals on generic tariff queries instead of owning local search intent, advice-driven topics and trust signals. The fix: brand and website from one team, topic-specific pages per insurance type, local architecture and InsuranceAgency schema, broker-law clean from day one.

Live 03 · BEAUTY & WELLNESS

Beauty & wellness

Beauty salons, spas, massage and wellness businesses. The main break: leaving visibility to the Google profile alone and the booking to the platform, while the own website stands still. The fix: dedicated pages per treatment, a local foundation with a review workflow, an own booking flow instead of platform dependence, multilingual where needed. Backed by the B28 Muscat launch case.

  • Main break: practices rely on referrals, neglect Google Business Profile and review management. The first contact searches go to competitors as a result.

Solution path: review strategy with request workflow after treatment, GBP maintenance with service listing, HONcode-compliant copy, local schema with MedicalClinic subtype.

Engagement on the horizon? Get on the list

  • Main break: booking platforms hijack brand search, the own domain stays second, tracking sovereignty gone.

Solution path: Restaurant/Hotel schema with menu/priceRange/openingHours, own reservation flow instead of platform redirect, image care in GBP, targeted storytelling content for „near me" searches.

Engagement on the horizon? Get on the list

  • Main break: a German-only presence loses qualified inquiries from international clients in DACH tech clusters (Munich, Berlin, Vienna) without putting up a fight.

Solution path: hreflang-clean EN twin, location pages with clear service area, ProfessionalService schema with knownLanguage, B2B persona language instead of generic marketing.

Engagement on the horizon? Get on the list

  • Main break: visual industry, but image care in GBP does not happen; booking funnels run via third parties without tracking sovereignty.

Solution path: GBP image routine, review reply guidelines with brand voice, own booking flow with conversion measurement, service listing with clear price range.

Four phases per industry page

Industry page = market research + proof project + indexation. In that order.

An industry page is not a rewritten service text. It is the SERP geometry of the industry, the persona language and the proof from an engagement, condensed onto one page.

01
Map the SERP geometry of the industry

Which query clusters dominate the industry? Where does district beat city? Where does specialisation win against generalist? Which schema types render in the respective SERP? Result: documented keyword/intent map as the basis for all further steps.

02
Derive persona language from client calls

Which terms do decision-makers in this industry actually use? Which concerns are explicit, which implicit? Source: interviews or recordings from existing engagements in the industry. No invented persona, no marketing speak.

03
Anchor proof

An industry page without a concrete example project does not go live. Minimum proof depth: documented GSC data over at least three months, with before/after comparison or absolute values plus source. If no engagement exists: the industry stays in preparation.

04
Structure, write, index

Build according to the established industry template: hero, diagnosis, case, process, scope, fit, FAQ, final CTA. JSON-LD with Service + FAQPage + BreadcrumbList. Submit to Search Console, indexation check within 24 hours, monitoring for the first 30 days.

When an industry page is the right entry point

Three signals, and none of them is "we can do everything".

  • You operate in one of the eight industries, and your search-query reality matches the patterns sketched above. Then the industry page is the direct entry point, not the generic service page.
  • You operate in an industry that is (still) missing here, e.g. e-commerce, education, NGO. Then the strategy call is the direct path, because before any engagement we would map the SERP geometry of your industry first.
  • You are unsure whether the industry is decisive, often it is not. SEO works per search query, not per industry. If your business is industry-agnostic, the main SEO page is the better starting point.

FAQ

Frequent questions about the industry approach.

Because an industry page without a documented case would be a claim, not a consultation. Every industry page here only goes live once a current or completed engagement actually backs the SEO leverage of that industry. Order is determined by mandate availability, not by market size. Trades & construction comes first because a documented recovery engagement (Rucker Elektro Munich) provides the proof.

Local SEO sorts visibility by location: Munich, district clusters, service area. Industry SEO sorts by professional category and the industry-specific SERP mechanics (review weight for healthcare, district clusters for trades, EN twin for B2B services). Both complement each other: for a Munich-based trades business, the mechanics of the industry and the city work together. Which of the two axes is more important for you is what the strategy call clarifies.

You receive a written, prioritised action list, tailored to your specific domain, your industry and your service area. Effort estimate, sequence, expected impact per action. What happens next is up to you: you can have the list implemented with us, with someone else or work on it yourself. The strategy call is paid (60 minutes, 190 EUR) and stands on its own, it is not a sales demo with a three-month commitment as a precondition.

Because currently three industries are live and five others are in preparation. A main-nav position for a directory with 3 of 8 entries would be dishonest, it would promise more than we deliver. Once three to four industry pages are live and backed by documented engagements, the industry directory moves into the main menu. Until then it stays linked from the footer and the services overview.

The strategy call works without a finished industry page. We map the SERP geometry of your industry during the conversation and provide the action list on that basis. If your industry belongs to the industries we cover or plan (financial services, healthcare, law firms, hospitality, B2B, premium services) and a current engagement materialises, that becomes the industry page that later serves other businesses as a proof page. The mandate provides the proof, not the claim.
